DEAR DECEMBER: DAY 2

After I did the  Coconut Oil Treatment  last night, I didn't do anything else as far as day one was concerned. I just put four conrows in over night to do braidout. I did trim off a lot of hair last night. I didn't like the way my ends were feeling. After cutting off a few inches, I found that in certain areas, my curls were popping again. So I may just continue to slowly trim off the heat damaged hair every three months if need be. DAY 1 PRE-POO'D  SHAMPOO'D CONDITIONED APPLIED SHEA BUTTER AND CURLS UNLEASHED TO HAIR, THEN PUT INTO FOUR CORNROWS DAY 2 TOOK OUT CORNROWS TO DO A BRAID OUT NIGH TIME: APPLIED OIL MIXTURE TO SCALP, WRAPPED HAIR UN-BRAIDED.

CURLY TOP: THE PERFECT WAY TO ACHIEVE THOSE LUSCIOUS CURLS

I wanted a big curly fro that would come out something like the image above. I wanted the bomb, the big, the spiral curl look that I could later put into a frohawk.  I found something that pretty much worked and I could do plenty of other styles besides a frohawk with the way the hair came out. I know you want picture results of how MY hair turned out right? Well here you go! Nice right? So you want to know the steps taken? Of course you do, and of course I love taking pics of my steps. This time I start off with freshly washed hair. I let it air dry until the water stopped slipping off the hair. When it is about 85% dry, you make sure you have all of your materials. Comb Some type of curl gel (I used curls unleashed) Shea butter I start parting into two sections. Top half and bottom half. With the top half, part with a pigtail comb a section to begin flat twisting. With the section being about two fingers in thickness, apply a thin coat of she...

PRE-POO RECIPE FOR MOISTURE

You know the benefits (some) get from pre-pooing. I know I had great strength against breakage when I used to pre-poo when I began my hair journey. I slacked off but now trying to regain what worked again. Somehow I misplaced the 100% Coconut Oil I just bought. So I had to remix the pre-poo oils. I decided to use Shea Butter and Olive Oil. No matter what your ingredients are, just be sure to check your allergies. Always test a small area prior to doing your whole head. That's with any product you plan to use. This is my routine for pre-pooing hair: DO NOT COMB HAIR PUT HAIR INTO FOUR SECTIONS START WITH THE BACK SECTION SINCE THAT IS THE SECTION THAT WILL MOST LIKELY RUB AGAINST MATERIAL.  APPLY MIX TO ONE SECTION - MAKE SURE IT IS WELL THROUGH THE STRANDS - PIN THAT SECTION UP AFTER APPLICATION REPEAT FOR THE REMAINING THREE SECTIONS PLACE A SHOWER CAP OR PLASTIC BAG OVER HAIR DECIDE IF YOU ARE GOING TO GO UNDER THE DRYER FOR 20 MINUTES  OR WEAR THE SHOWER CAP ...

PRODUCTS TEST

In an attempt to revamp my regimen, I decided to add on a few products while cutting back on unnecessary ones I have been using. I decided to pick up 100% pure African Shea Butter and 100% pure Jamaican Coconut Oil. I didn't know the Shea Butter was this thick or had a "spongy" type of feeling until applied to hair. I put Bantu Knots in my hair last night and this Shea Butter made it extremely soft. It also laid the Bantu Knots down. After a month, I will give my review of Shea Butter and and results I have gained or loss during this trail. Shea Butter: Picture compliment of  http://o2beautiful.wordpress.com As far as the Coconut Oil, I thought it was going to be an oil, but it was actually a thick solid block, until applied to body temperature to where it then turns into oil. I missed a portion of it into herbal hair grease, and Miconazole Nitrate 2%.  (Don't judge me, I will elaborate in the next post of my regimen). I applied to this my scalp only. N...
