Love & Hip Hop's, Yandy Smith-Harris, is known for being a boss and about her money. But I also would like to acknowledge the fact that she is a natural hair chick that I have a hair crush on for the moment. She says protective style is what keeps her hair in top shape. By protective style, she is talking about keeping her hair hidden by wearing weaves (extensions), braids, and wigs. I must say, they have kept her natural hair looking healthy and long. I had recently did a flat twist out and loved the results. Since my hair is getting longer now, I love how the hair is big and lays flat now instead of sticking all over the place. Check out my results. I used Ecostyler, the old fashioned Indian Hemp Hair Conditioner (Grease), then flat twisted the whole way back, and the front half, I twisted going towards the ears.

This week's hairstyle will be a simple braids (cornrows) to the side with a portion of "bang" area left out for either twists or a twist out. I haven't decided if I was going to take the twists out for tomorrow or wait until mid week so the curls will be tighter. Personally, I don't look right with the twist.  I'm still in the "no heat" challenge so this is helping me cope without straightening. I will use my one heat pass for when I go away on vacation on August 2nd, but I am trying to think of an alternate style to wear away so I can be purely heat free for the summer. 

We all remember her as Fancy on the Jamie Foxx show. I remember her because of her beauty. She always just had beautiful skin to me that I always wished I had. You know, that flawless clear skin. Well did you also know that she is Haitian? Of course you did. Anyway, I always loved her braidouts/twistouts. I tried to find her hair-care regimen and I mean I tried hard but for some reason, she doesn't really talk about her hair practices. Go figure. However, I did find a couple of picture of supposedly her "naked hair." Garcelle Beauvais seems to have relaxed hair, I could be mistaken but I doubt it. And it also appears her natural texture (judging from the images of her needing a bad touch-up), she seems to fall right into a type 4b. Either way, her hair stays gorgeous with extensions or without.
