UPGRADED HAIR ROUTINE

This is a sure plan for optimum growth before the end of the year. There is exactly two and half months left before the year ends. I plan to achieve at least three inches in that time, so I came up with a "routine" to keep me on track. Take a peek below. Keep in mind, I always do my hair at night-time.  Sunday: Wash day. Today is the day I wash away all of the weeks worth of buildup. I will first shampoo thoroughly with V05 Moisturizing Shampoo Next I will use Hollywood Beauty Olive Cholesterol Deep Conditioning Creme for 20 minutes while I shower. Blot dry hair and let hair air-dry. Oil Scalp with Mega-growth Hair Oil Style for the week as desired. Monday/Friday:  If I decide to flat iron my hair, I will use a heat protectant serum. If I decide to wear my hair natural, I will run a nickel size amount of oil through my hair, and either co-wash, bottle spray, or pin hair up Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday: Preserve hair from previous day.  Oil Scalp D...

DEAR DECEMBER : DAY 19 - 24

Day 19 through 21: Okay, oil rinsed Wednesday night, and dry wrapped hair again. I wore the following styles all week. Saturday, I washed and conditioned. After letting hair air dry over night, I decided to flat iron. It came out beautifully. I made sure I used heat protectant as always. So no complaints over here. ETA: Okay well day 23 was pure hell for me. First I OD on Nyquil. So I was extra drowsy. Plus it was rainy outside all day, so I was just miserable. Now to complete this messed up day, I went left work, headed to my car that was parked down the block to find this: A DAMN FLAT TIRE. IN THE RAIN. WITH THIS FRESHLY FLAT IRONED HAIR. AAAAHHHH. I looked a pure mess afterwards. All that time flat ironing went to waste. So I am here tonight as I type this update, re-flat ironing. Don't worry, this is my last time flat ironing for a while. My friend, who is natural, did not flat iron her hair for a whole year and finally did it for Christma...

UPDATED LENGTH CHECK

I DECIDED TO FLAT IRON MY HAIR DURING THIS "90 DAYS OF NO HEAT CHALLENGE." ONLY BECAUSE I HAD OBLIGATIONS TO ATTEND TO. THIS WILL BE THE ONLY PASS THAT I USE. ESPECIALLY SINCE I ONLY HAVE ONE MORE MONTH TO GO. THIS IS THE LONGEST I HAD BEEN W/OUT HEAT. IF YOU PAID ATTENTION TO MY LAST LENGTH CHECK BEFORE THE CHALLENGE AND TAKE A LOOK AT MY CURRENT LENGTH CHECK, YOU WILL SEE THE HEALTH AND GROWTH THAT I HAVE KEPT DURING THE TWO MONTHS WITHOUT HEAT. I HOPE YOU ALL JOIN ME FOR THE NEXT MINI "NO HEAT" CHALLENGE.

CURLY GIRL CHALLENGE...COMES TO AN END!

Unfortunately, I was unable to continue the CG challenge due to hair breakage. I noticed a lot of breakage in the middle of my head where I would normally pin the hair back during this challenge. Okay, I can't totally blame it on the CG challenge because this has always been a sensitive area for as far as I can remember. Plenty of times I had to cut this section. It can be one of three reasons: The flat iron is sectioned off there The way my hair is wrapped at night on that section When I pin my hair back, it is always around that section I am determined to figure out the reason. So I flat ironed my hair and trimmed that section. I will now flat iron every two weeks like in the past. Now this time when I flat iron, I will NOT section it off down the middle and across the side, instead, I will section it off in a total of six pieces. I am also going to up my oil rinses and deep conditioning. Last but not least, I will not wrap my hair in a bee-hive, I will wear it...

QUICK HAIRSTYLE OF THE DAY!

I flat ironed my hair on Sunday for the new semester of school. So since I hate hair being in my face these days, I decided to do the "old-school" half up, half down style. I sectioned off the top half from the bottom. Pinned the front half uup into a loose bun and waaalaaah....look complete. Quick and simple. Look below for pictures of the finished look. Cute Protective Style - Quick and Simple

I get asked how do I achieve this look. Simple put, it's just a French Braid done on a week old flat iron job.  Run some oil through hair, comb towards the middle, then begin to loosely braid hair down the center or towards the side. After you have completed that, tuck the ends under and pin with hair pins.  After bobby pins are secured, pull the braid towards the sides very carefully. Swoop the front part to the side or wear bangs if you like. Look is officially completed.

How I Safely Flat Iron My Hair

Well, I document almost EVERY thing I do to my hair. This obsession has got me really going crazy. I mean, this is the healthiest, strongest and longest my hair has ever been in my adult years. I often get asked how do I flat iron my hair, how often, and how long does it normally stay straight? How Often Do I Flat Iron: Well, I flat iron my hair once bi-weekly. I make sure that I use heat protectant and spray sheen before I use the heat. So far, no harm has been done to my hair. Heat does not have to be the devil if you are taking proper precautions to ensure the health of your hair. I never blow-dry and flat iron anymore, I stopped that 2 years ago. I only air-dry. How Long Does It Last: My hair usually stays straight for a week or a little longer as long as moisture does not hit it. Remember I'm a natural so my hair will curl/shrink/and bush up all at the same time at the drop of water. How Do I Flat Iron: (this is what works FOR ME) On clean, air-dried hair, I pa...
