QUICK HAIR TIP FOR EXTREMELY DRY HAIR

OMG, my hair has been the most dry of all dry seasons ever. Okay, maybe that didn't make sense but the point still remains that I am talking about my hair being desert dry. It was so dry that my scalp was itching nonstop and was flaking up. Keep in mind, I wash my hair every two or three days but this week, I haven't done any of that, nor have I oiled my scalp in so long that I doubt it would even recognize the feeling.  So what I decided to do was a home "stimulating re-hydration" treatment. This treatment is very simple to relieve itchy scalp, dry, brittle, and also dull hair at the same time. All you need is one egg (depending on the thickness/length of your hair), and one or two teaspoons of cayenne pepper.  The egg is for protein, dullness, to provide Vitamins A, D, B-12, and E, also amino acids and Sulfur, which is a growth stimulate. An egg can provide the moisture that your hair is lacking, hence why it is so dry, which can then result in breakage. As...

BEGINNING OF SUMMER LENGTH CHECK

If you read the previous post then you know I am doing a " NO HEAT IN THE SUMMER CHALLENGE ." What better way to start this challenge but with a length check. I am not sure what length I am but if you have been following my blog, you know that I trim my hair every time I get to bra-strap length. It seems that is where the most breakage happens for some reason. I mention this because it seems I am at BSL again, but fortunately, there is no damage. Start of Summer No Heat Challenge:

End of the Year Length Check

I pretty much documented my ups and downs this year. Overall I am extremely happy with my growth.  Reflecting back through this year, I had a few set-backs that I am still working on. If you remember, there was a section in the middle that I had to constantly trim because it was thin, short, and easily to break. I figured out that it was the way I was flat ironing. So to fix this, I trimmed off those broken ends to start with. I added a protein treatment into my regimen, and lastly, I flat ironed a different way.  Another set-back was recently. which is also a result of flat ironing too much. My hair started shedding like crazy. I mean I could not even lay down without hair falling everywhere. If I ran my hands or anything brushed against my hair, almost a ball sized amount would fall out.     So to fix the above, I stopped flat ironing every week again. Seems to be getting under control now. I hope  you all had as much growth or health to your hair as I...

HOMEMADE FIXTURES THAT WORK

Let’s face it; most of America is not in the financial class of having extra money to buy expensive hair products. I’m talking about the products that promise to promote healthy hair growth, or to stop breakage, or even to grow hair six inches in three months. African-American women alone spend more money on hair care products than any other race.  Not talking about a few hundred dollars here and there, studies show the amount we spend on hair care products surpasses the half a trillion dollar mark annually, just in our hair care alone. So how can we cut this cost down? The answer is simple. Create treatments from the comfort of our own kitchen at little to no cost at all. The point is, we could save ourselves so much money if we used home remedies to fix everyday hair problems. There are plenty of ways to fix whatever problem you’re having with just a simple at home recipe. SAFELY DYE YOUR HAIR AT HOME

I got tired of having my hair brown, so I decided to do something about it. I went out and bought hair dye (home kit) and went to work. Here is the tutorial on the process. SAME PROCEDURE IS DONE FOR BOTH RELAXED AND NATURAL HAIR. BEFORE YOUR COLOR, MAKE SURE YOUR HAIR IS HEALTHY ENOUGH TO ENDURE THE CHEMICALS IN THE DYE. IF NEEDED, GIVE YOURSELF A PROTEIN TREATMENT A WEEK BEFORE COLORING. I DEEP CONDITIONED 2 DAYS BEFORE COLORING AND WILL ALSO DEEP CONDITION A WEEK AFTER THE COLOR. MAKE SURE YOUR HAIR STAYS MOISTURIZED AFTER COLORING TO AVOID BREAKAGE. FOLLOW MY BLOG FOR MORE HAIR TIPS: SCARYHAIROBSESSION.BLOGSPOT.COM THANK YOU
