"I LOVE YOU BUT I HATE YOU." HAIR RELATIONSHIP PROBLEMS

For the past two days, I have been struggling with my hair. Luckily for me, when I get bored, frustrated, or upset, I find SOMETHING to do to my hair. Because if not, the next step would be the scissors.  Okay, so this is how I started out.  The hair was washed the previous day and worn in a wash-n-go. I just combed out the curls and this was the result. This bush!! I was at a total loss since I was on a time limit before work, on what to do with my hair. So I left it in a ponytail while I continued to be a hair drama queen. Finally, I just started twisting, and pinned the two twists up. Here is the result. I'm happy and satisfied with the results. I think this will be one of those "when I have nothing else to do with my hair" kind of styles. Enjoy

WOW FACTOR! CELEB HAIR OF THE WEEK: AFRICA MIRANDA

Can you say GAW-JUSSS!! I mean literally, GORGEOUS hair. Africa Miranda definitely has it made with her lucky curls/kinks.  One night, I'm awake looking for something to watch when a show came on the Bravo Network. The show looked semi-interesting to me so I watched a little more hoping that it was full of black women since the show is based in Atlanta. I was in for a shock of my life, when Africa Miranda popped up on my screen with the most delicious curly fro I have ever saw. I mean the hair was so thick, so healthy, so luscious, that I almost made love to it from off the couch. Right away I went to research mode. I had to know who this beautiful woman with the even more beautiful hair was. What I found out is that Africa is more than just a reality star, she is also a singer, and a fellow hair blogger. I believe she even belonged to a site I still frequent ( LHCF ). It appears as though she takes VERY good care of her hair. I just have a few questions I would love t...

MANAGING SUMMER HAIR

Personally, it is too hot to be wearing all this added hair in the summer. With my natural BSL hair, I find it easy to just wash-n-go with a bun tuck, or a french braid down the middle. I even just rock a high banana clip so my hair will not bother me. Usually I wear my personalized "spanish" bun when I'm tired. I mean I literally get so tired of this hair that I am so tempted to grab the scissors and cut it all off. But that would be stupid. So as of this summer, I find it simple to just wear box braids up into a high ponytail. That way my hair is still protected (with moisture rituals, and conditioning treatments) as well as not bothering me in this heat. If you are one who is not into wearing box braids, and such, try going for the all natural wash-n-go look: Credit: Essence.com or a high bun credit:  easynaturalhair.com or try styles using banana clips. These are a few I have that have kept me cool during the heat Regardless ...

SUMMER NO HEAT CHALLENGE

I honestly do not recall telling you all that I will not be using heat this summer. The last time that I used heat was June 3rd for my beautiful cousins graduation ceremony. For the past month of June, I basically did wash and gos, braidouts, or a twist and bun. I got so tired of this head full of hair at one point, I decided to cut it all off. Luckily I didn't. So July 1st, I put box braids in for this month. Now you know how I get impatient, and bored with my hair easily, so my goal is to keep these in for the ENTIRE month. GASP! I hope I last that long, because honestly, as I am typing this, I feel like I had enough and want to do a wash-n-go. Now I have vacation coming up the first weekend of August. Going to the beach baby. Aaah. Fresh air, fresh hair, and fresh weave is what I will be wearing. I plan on getting a sew-in done. self-install to be exact. Now with the install, I plan on keeping it in until the first week of September. I am just in a hurry to see how much my o...

A SATURDAY WASH N GO

Nothing special. Just co-washed with white rain extra moisture conditioner. Then let hair dry in a silk scarf for until most of the water was absorbed. I then put olive oil moisturizing lotion throughout hair and then fluffed. Quick, easy and stylish

WANT TO SEE HOW I'VE BEEN WEARING MY HAIR?

Okay this is officially the 38th day without any sort of heat appliance in my hair. I haven't even been under a hooded dryer. You just do not know how curious I am to see the progress. So I took the braids down. No reason why. I just like to change up at the spare of the moment. Pretty much my hair has been in it's natural state for the past three days. The pictures below are of my hair natural right in the middle of a workout. Which brings me to my next thing, follow my workout blog at  Forever Fit . This is pretty much a wash-n-go

New Year's Day Wash N Go

Due to the fail of the pin-curl, I did a wash-n-go for New Year's night. I still have to get used to my hair being jet-black in it's natural state. I don't really like it curly. I was just snapping pics, so don't mind the look =) If you notice, my curl pattern is very loose. I have to find a way to increase my curl pattern so I can rock certain looks.

Wash-N-Go Easy and Quick

I got tired of the flat hair, so I decided to co-wash and wear curly. These styles are so quick and easy that I should not even have an excuse for a bad hair day.  TODAY'S WASH-N-GO Well, long story short, it got rained on after looking so cute and all the curls dropped to this Luckily with my wash-n-go's I can do "touch-n-go" styles like so... My new favorite style to do is something I call "mariposa" meaning butterfly. I love doing this quick lil' bun-like thingy.  Successful wash-n-go: wash with only conditioner, moisture enriched Do not put a towel over your head to dry, instead put on a shower cap or scarf around hair. Wait for 5 minutes to let the water be soaked up in the scarf, or if using shower cap, let water drip off into cap and slowly remove. Use a leave-in conditioner and run through hair Begin to scrunch hair but not to rough There ya go,
