WOW FACTOR! CELEB HAIR OF THE WEEK: AFRICA MIRANDA

Can you say GAW-JUSSS!! I mean literally, GORGEOUS hair. Africa Miranda definitely has it made with her lucky curls/kinks.  One night, I'm awake looking for something to watch when a show came on the Bravo Network. The show looked semi-interesting to me so I watched a little more hoping that it was full of black women since the show is based in Atlanta. I was in for a shock of my life, when Africa Miranda popped up on my screen with the most delicious curly fro I have ever saw. I mean the hair was so thick, so healthy, so luscious, that I almost made love to it from off the couch. Right away I went to research mode. I had to know who this beautiful woman with the even more beautiful hair was. What I found out is that Africa is more than just a reality star, she is also a singer, and a fellow hair blogger. I believe she even belonged to a site I still frequent ( LHCF ). It appears as though she takes VERY good care of her hair. I just have a few questions I would love t...

FABULOUS INSTAGRAM FEATURED HAIR

In all of my years on this Earth, I have not discovered as much beautiful hair as I have seen on instagram. I mean there are some naturally and even relaxed beautiful black women with the most gorgeous manes. I mean manes that will have you literally drooling. I thought it would be cool to show some pictures. This week I want to show EnvyMe_Mary . This beauty just happens to be a hairstylist with Aveda Institute. Our black is beautiful. Even if it is mixed with other blends. EnvyMe_mary says to be  African-American, German, Cherokee, and Russian.  What is amazing is, the products that she uses are not some high-end ordered from offline stuff, but products that you find in your local beauty supply stores. I spotted for this summer she is using Mane & Tail products as well as Shea butter leave-in conditioner repair cream. Follow her instagram for more pictures and inspiration.

STYLING MY BOX BRAIDS

I'm far from style challenged. My problem is I get bored with the same styles. Usually, I find a few styles I do, do not go with my face to kindly. With strong African features, I had to find what really looked right to me. Well It has been two weeks since I got these box braids in that I did myself. As I stated, I am going to keep them in for this entire month of July. Hopefully, this will give me that extra inch closer to waist length that I need. Last length check I did was back in May. I stopped using heat in June. In box braids until August. Man, I can't wait to see what the next length check has in store for me. Surprise galore, I'm sure. Anyway, here are a few pics of styles I have work with these braids. These are after my first wash, and conditioning treatment

APRIL LENGTH CHECK

I AM STILL AIMING FOR WAIST LENGTH BY THE END OF THE YEAR.

A SATURDAY WASH N GO

Nothing special. Just co-washed with white rain extra moisture conditioner. Then let hair dry in a silk scarf for until most of the water was absorbed. I then put olive oil moisturizing lotion throughout hair and then fluffed. Quick, easy and stylish

UPCOMING TOPICS FOR THIS WEEK

Finally I have a break from work and decided to write as many posts/articles as I can this week for the readers. I received report that I had over 5000 readers last month and I am hoping to get past that this month. Therefore, I am mapping out a plan of action to keep me on track weekly. I will continue to do this since it seems easier as far as keeping interest of myself and everyone else as well. Sundays: Hairstyle of the week   (This will give you the latest trend on quick, diy hairstyles that will keep you looking ready for the world) Mondays: Surprise topic  (I will choose what to discuss. General hair topics, such as,  hair growth products that actually work, what to do if hair is breaking for no obvious reason...) Tuesdays: Hair from around the world  (See how other cultures care for their hair) Wednesdays: Celebrity hair  (Your favorite celebrities and their hair care) Thursdays: New product of the week (hottest and newest hair i...

Celebrity Hair: Karlie Redd

It seems as if Karlie Redd from Love & Hip-Hop ATL is holding other secrets besides for her age and secret to her youthful looks. It seems as if she is holding out on her secret to naturally beautiful hip-length hair. I searched thoroughly for a hair regimen or products that she uses, but she seems to hold all the information back for an upcoming product line. Karlie Redd, Karlie Lewis, or Keisha Lewis, whichever you choose to call her, first stood out as a cast member on Vh1’s “Love & Hop-Hop Atlanta,” who had a love interest in the rapper Benzino. I on the other hand, like so many others, found her to be the same woman in SYFY’s “Scream Queens” in 2010. Even then, her hair was always in the best of shape. It is a known fact that she wears weaves, as she promoted the release of her own hair extension line, Redd Remy Hair.  During an interview, Karlie said the only reason she wears hair extensions is to add the effect of fullness to her hair. She also wears weaves to...

OIL RINSING

OIL RINSING: Hair’s claim to health Oil rinsing is using essential oils or hot oil treatments to rinse hair. This is often referred to as pre-pooing the hair before your normal wash routine. When I first found out about oil rinsing, I was clueless as to what it was. Naturally, I began researching the purpose and discovered that oil rinsing has many effects including combating dryness, providing strength to strands, and adding shine to dull hair. I began pre-pooing (oil-rinsing) to strengthen the strands and to promote growth by giving the scalp a massage with the oil while I waited to rinse the oil out. The results were incredible. It seemed to have given my hair life. It seemed sleeker and much shinier. You should give it a try even if you feel as if your hair is in a healthy state; this is guaranteed to give it an extra boost. Types of Oils BRAHMI OIL : The first oil that I ever used to oil rinse was an Indian brand, Brahmi Oil. Massaging this oil into the ha...

LENGTH CHECK FOR THIS MONTH

I can finally say this is the longest my hair has been in my adult life. Any length is obtainable with good practices.

HAIR OF THE DAY: BROOKE BAILEY

For those of you wondering if this is all of Brooke Bailey's hair.....I can let all of the inquiring minds know that YES, this is indeed her real hair, and not only is this her real hair, she is also natural.  She was asked on twitter if she perms or presses her hair out with a hot comb. She had responded by saying @brookebaileyinc LOL ...  I don't perm or press my hair. In this pic I washed it and let it air dry.  It seems as if she always had beautiful hair. Her hair is absolutely gorgeous and looks very healthy. Her natural haircare line (in which she uses for her hair) will be launched shortly. I guess I may have to give it a try. Considering how shiny her hair looks, it can't be that bad. (Click to enlarge images)

HAIR CRUSH ALERT!!

One day, I will ROCK the curls out of this style. Soon as my hair gets big and fluffy like so, you wont be able to tell me NOTHING. I have no clue who this woman is, but if you know, please email me her name.  Thanks in advance.
