NO HEAT SUMMER CHALLENGE

WHO IS WITH ME? YAAAY TO NO HEAT FOR THE SUMMER. IT IS HOT ENOUGH ALREADY, SO WHY ADD HEAT TO YOUR BEAUTIFUL TRESSES?

OFFICIAL START DATE FOR THIS CHALLENGE IS JUNE 21, 2014 UNTIL SEPTEMBER 21, 2014. I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS CHALLENGE. THREE MONTHS WORTH OF HAIR GROWTH THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY KEEP WITHOUT DAMAGE IS A WONDERFUL THOUGHT.

THIS TIME AROUND, THERE IS NO HEAT PASS AT ALL. THAT RULE RIGHT THERE WILL BE A CHALLENGE FOR ME. OH MY. I JUST HAVE TO KEEP IN MIND THAT IT WILL BENEFIT MY HAIR.

SUNDAY DINNER: HAITIAN RICE AND PEACE WITH SALMON

I had never tried Salmon. Never liked it. Well, that was because I never tried it. Hmm. Nonetheless, I finally gave in and had my first taste of this delicious dish about three months ago and fell in love with it. I do not know much about the fish but I do know that they are bred in fresh water, go to the ocean for a bit but return to the fresh waters to reproduce. Salmon is known as one of the worlds healthiest foods due to it's rich content of Omega-3 and protein. I will make another post about the benefits of Salmon but this post is about Sunday Dinner. Along with the Salmon that yes I will fry ( it will not kill me to have fried food every now and then.), I am also having Haitian style rice and peas. The classic dish in every Haitian home. COCONUT OIL TREATMENT

Dear December...Day 1 Keeping it simple. Coconut oil treatment to add moisture and shine to my hair. I want that strength, elasticity back in my strands. To view step by step on what exactly to do, follow my other pre-poo routine ( Pre-poo for softness ). For this round, I'm only using coconut oil, about a spoonful of olive oil, shea butter, and some cinnamon oil mixture. Planning on letting it set on my hair for about an hour. Rinse, shampoo, then condition. Most likely I will dry wrap my hair to put it up in a high bun for work tomorrow.

TRUMP TWEETS A MESSAGE FOR AMERICANS AMID DACA SCANDAL

With the rest of the United States still trying to come to grips with the devastation that occurred one week ago in Texas by Hurricane Harvey, Trump takes to twitter and gives a labor day tweet for Americans. That may not seem like a big deal but for about 800,000 DACA recipients, it comes as a slap in the face. What is DACA? DACA stands for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. It's American immigration policy founded by former president, Barack Obama in June 2012. DACA allows certain illegal immigrants who entered the country as minors, to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and eligibility for a work permit. Well, "All-American" president, Donald Trump, wants to do away with the program as he feels America should be ran by Americans. Meaning, only American items to be made by American workers.
