This topic may be a little "messy" or considered TMI, but if you do not have the correct information, then how will you know whether to o do a cleanse or not.
A friend of mine told me about how she lost five pounds in a little less than a week. Of course I asked her how. That's when I was hit with the idea of using a Colon Cleanse. At first, I was like...
But I started thinking about it. Would it hurt me? What harm could it really do? So I began researching it more in depth. From what I gathered, cleanses are actually good for you as long as they are not done too frequently
It is suggested that just as you cleanse your hair, house, and soul (spiritually), you should cleanse your body of the build up of toxins and waste along the digestive tract into the colon. A lot of crap (literally) sticks to the walls of your colon that could have been there for years, just hanging on for dare life. Colon cleansers come in a variety of forms, including capsules, laxatives, enemas, and "high colonics" which flush large amounts of water through the intestines.
Just keep in mind, that just because you do lose the build up, taking cleanses excessively can actually cause harm for your body. Remember you are releasing a lot of electrolytes, So I went over to WEBMD to see what the "experts" had to say about using these "aids".
Who is to say what is and what isn't going to work for your body. I had to try it for myself and see if my body accepted it well. My complaint is that I did not drink enough water, and my mouth was always dry.
The best way to cleanse yourself is through the body's automatic system. The body does a great job at cleaning itself when it needs. Also increase fiber and green leafy veggies, that is the most natural way to give yourself a cleanse without causing harm to your body. Lastly, increase your water to the recommended levels will help with the body's "flushing" system.
With anything, always check with your physician when in doubt. Please don't starve yourself during this process but make sure to eat healthier before, during, and after a cleanse.

I knew that I would not abuse the laxatives so I opted to try them. I ordered the same kind as my friend had told me about and let me tell you, it was not a pleasant experience when those pains start coming in. You better make sure there is a bathroom nearby or else your stomach will make noise that you never even heard of before. BUT I can say that after the 14 day the cleanse recommended, I was flatter in the stomach, I felt more comfortable, and even had a more energy.Colon Cleanser Cautions
Colon cleansers aren't just unnecessary, according to experts, they may even cause harm. "Using coloncleansers on a repetitive basis is not a great idea," Kava says. Your intestines aren't just a waste disposal unit; they're also a place where nutrients from food are absorbed to the bloodstream, to be transported throughout your entire body. Washing out the intestinal tract could potentially interrupt this absorption, leaving you with a vitamin or mineral deficiency, Kava tells WebMD. Â In addition, frequent use of some types of laxatives can have a boomerang effect, so that cleaning your colon could leave it less able to do its job the way nature intended.Another pitfall of colon cleansers is that they can lead to dehydration, Johnson says. Moreover, high colonics can potentially harm the colon, causing small tears or internal damage.Perhaps most alarming, colon cleansers have no proven safety record. "Colon cleansers are really not strictly regulated and tested," Johnson says. "If a product is shown to be harmful, the FDA will take action to have it removed from shelves, but it's not at all the same as taking a prescription drug that's been tested meticulously."
