MALINDA WILLIAMS DOES HAIR

When I think of Malinda Williams, I always think about how gorgeous she looks rocking short hair. I honestly don't think long hair works for her. The short cut brings out her best features if you ask me. "Da Wood" beauty now has her own youtube channel where she does her own hair, gives advice, and is also answering your questions. Looking at the way Malinda cares for her hair makes me want to chop mine off and start over. Stay updated with what's going on in Malinda's hair journey. Youtube Twitter Instagram

LHHNY HAIR EDITION: CELEB FEATURE - YANDY SMITH

Besides for being beautiful, successful, driven, and genuine, Love and Hip-Hop NY reality star Yandy Smith has absolutely gorgeous natural hair. I can deny, even if she is weaved up, her hair is always laid to the floor. From what I gather, Yandy has a product line coming soon. I look forward to see her regimen, products, and advice regarding how she takes care of her hair under the weave. More details as they come.

PRODUCTS TEST

In an attempt to revamp my regimen, I decided to add on a few products while cutting back on unnecessary ones I have been using. I decided to pick up 100% pure African Shea Butter and 100% pure Jamaican Coconut Oil. I didn't know the Shea Butter was this thick or had a "spongy" type of feeling until applied to hair. I put Bantu Knots in my hair last night and this Shea Butter made it extremely soft. It also laid the Bantu Knots down. After a month, I will give my review of Shea Butter and and results I have gained or loss during this trail. Shea Butter: Picture compliment of  http://o2beautiful.wordpress.com As far as the Coconut Oil, I thought it was going to be an oil, but it was actually a thick solid block, until applied to body temperature to where it then turns into oil. I missed a portion of it into herbal hair grease, and Miconazole Nitrate 2%.  (Don't judge me, I will elaborate in the next post of my regimen). I applied to this my scalp only. N

PRE-POOING HAIR FOR SHINE AND SOFTNESS

I remember a time when my hair was flourishing. I mean, growing to the point where it was so healthy and shiny that it appeared to be a wig. I want to get back to those days. And since I am on the "Fall No Heat Challenge," I decided to do what I used to do. What worked for me in the past. My old regimen that got me where I am today was to do an oil treatment mid week, then do a Deep Conditioning treatment at the end of the week. I would always make sure that my hair was always moisturized. I also used to flat iron bi-weekly without any negative affects to my hair. It was growing in healthy, strong, and thick. I guess I stopped that regimen because I ended up getting too busy with life things. Well now I'm back on it. As I type, I'm sitting underneath my hooded dryer doing a pre-poo oil treatment. The products I used are Herbal Oil from Africa's best, Cinnamon Oil, and Olive Oil. I sectioned off into four sections and applied the oil to my hair from the root

CELEB HAIR BEAUTY: MELISSA DE SOUSA

I always envied her beautiful hair. Afr0-latina of Panamanian descent creates Melissa De Sousa. No matter if her hair is curly, straight, colored, blow dried, or wrapped in a turban, you can not deny that her hair is always laid to perfection. (Except that blonde color she is wearing these days, but that's neither here nor there at the moment) One thing I love about her hair is that we have similar textures. Except, she manages to get her hair silky straight when it is flat ironed. That thang' just swaaaaangs for days.

KILLED EM' WITH THE BANTU

Success. Well kind of. Upon take-down, they still were a little bit damp but overall they were dry. I never know how to un-ravel Bantu Knots so I just turned them in the opposite direction.  Liking the results, I decided to pin them up to the side. Boy, was I getting compliments out of the anus today. I loved every bit of it. This will be a style I use often in this "No Heat Fall Edition" Challenge. Enjoy the pics

The Perfect NO HEAT Spiral Bantu Knot Out on Natural Hair !

Currently I am in Bantu Knots, air-drying them overnight. This is done on a day-old wash n go. I did not re-wet the hair at all. I followed the same pattern as the video below. Products I used were Motions wrapping lotion, hair gel, and a detangler.  I will be sure to take pics upon take-down tomorrow.
