THE BEST NEW SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER SET

As I was browsing the aisle in Walgreens (which happens to be my favorite store for some strange reason), I came across an item that was for sale in the hair care aisle. Of course being a hair fanatic, I glanced at the ingredients and decided to make the purchase. It was shampoo and conditioner brought to you by Garnier's new line Honey Treasures by Whole Blends. As of now, there are only three products to this line which consists of Shampoo, Conditioner, and a repairing hair mask. Well at the time, I did not see the repairing hair mask so I just bought what they did have. I am so glad that I decided to try a new brand because when I tell you it made my hair the softest, lightest, and bounciest EVER, you will think I am exaggerating. And note, I do not get paid at all for this blog so my word is just that, MY WORD.  What caught my eyes in the first place was the golden bottle and the word "honey" on there. That's when I checked the ingredients second. So afte

THE SALT WATER FLUSH EXPERIENCE

So I've been looking to sort of jump start my diet or should I say, "healthier options in eating lifestyle." Since I research everything prior to starting it, I found something that may help me in beginning this journey. It's by way of a Salt Water Flush. Now you may ask, what exactly is a SWF right? So let me give you a broken down version of it so that you understand what I am putting my body through. A SWF has been used for thousands of years to rid the body of toxins and build-up. It's a natural alternative to laxatives in other words. It consists of two ingredients: Sea Salt Non-Iodine and Water. The salt must state Sea Salt and also must state non-iodine based, which means, table salt that you season your food with, is not the salt you need to be using for this cleanse. The solution consists of two teaspoons of the Sea Salt into 32 oz of warm water. I can tell you the taste will make most gag so if you want to drip some juice from a lemon in there,

UPDATE: ONE YEAR SINCE BIG CHOP

If you remember from this post , then you remember when I chopped off all of the heat damaged hair that I was suffering from. I started my natural hair journey in 2010 and become completely natural in 2012. My hair reached all the way to near waist length but I always had to chop away hair due to heat damage, or because the ends were breaking constantly. Last year, Sept 1st 2015, I decided to cut off ALL of the heat damaged and color in my hair. It left me with ear length (lol) hair. I mean, I couldn't do anything with it, but I found ways to make it work. Now in Sept 2016, I am almost near where I started with healthier strands. My hair is so thick, even, and healthy that I now hate to even mess with it. So here is the long awaited one-year before and after. To view my complete hair journey from the beginning, click here . HAIR JOURNEY: FROM THE BEGINNING

Follow my  instagram  for daily hair pics.  My hair has had its struggles through the years; some good, some bad, and some just ooogly (ugly). But through it all, it has been a learning experience as I continue to get a full grasp of this hair of mine. As a kid, I had a decent amount of hair and would get it pressed a few times, which would let my hair reach mid-back. That was until a friend of the family put a perm in my hair and then the process started from then - a downward spiral that I never fully recovered. As of right now, I cannot find any pictures of my high school years, but I did find a few from those "awkward" years after high school. I used to fry, dye, blow-dry, cut, wear bonding glue to attach weaves, and everything else you could possible imagine, I did. I didn't really care about my hair because it looked cute and healthy to me. Little did I know at the time that I was damaging my hair to the extremes with perming, then blow-drying, then color
