SIMPLE BUN WITH AN ACCENT

A style that I found quick and easy to get me through one of those "unsure" days was a bun with a front swoop (which I call an accent). I applied some hair lotion, a little bit of jam for the edges, and a little bit of olive oil to the ends throughout my hair. Section off a portion in the front to make the "accent." It's up to you how much of an accent you want to swoop over. Until you are ready to mess with it, pin it down so you can focus on creating your bun. The the bun in the back, the more bushier your hair, the bigger your bun will be. My hair is naturally bushy when it is air dried. I have thick hair. What I did was wet it a little bit to make it easier to stay in place once I started bobby-pinning it down. I took the hair into both hands and started twisting in one twist all the way down to the ends loosely. Upon reaching the end of the twist, lightly roll up the hair and then pin down to the scalp. The sides should be very loose at this point a...

UPDATES...

So far this year I have not used any heat in my hair. I'm debating on straightening it tonight for a length check since I trimmed exactly a month ago. There are a few things I have done since my last post. I dyed my hair to a more reddish tint. As stated, I trimmed to a more even length. I cut out heat for a month. Lastly, I upped my deep conditioning treatments. There are also  a few styles I found that work without using heat at all. They gave me beautiful curls (will post about that in the following post). I also noticed that my natural curs are coming back and more beautiful. I love how versatile natural hair is. Stay tuned. I'm back. I find that when I was posting daily hair styles that I was posting more frequently. I may do that again for another 60 days.

I LOVE DOING FLAT TWIST OUTS

Okay, don't kill me. I know in the last post I said I was just going to wear a bun for tomorrow, but now I have decided to do a flat twist out. That way I wont have to worry about my hair for the rest of the week. I will of course post pictures tomorrow but for now, goodnight. ETA: I changed my mind again. What is wrong with me? Okay, I'm going back to my original post, as in where I will just wear a bun. I will do the twist out tomorrow night. Sigh.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

To start off fresh for the new year, I shampooed and conditioned my hair. Nothing more. I'm going to keep it super simple and stress free this year with my hair. Not going to continuously do length checks, not going to straighten every single second I get board, just simple things. Like for example, I didn't put any product in my hair just yet. I'm letting it air so that I can have big puffy hair for tomorrow. I want to throw it back into a thick ponytail. Before I do that, after it dries, I will apply profectiv lotion, and a small amount of coconut oil. Good luck for the new year with your hair care, and stay tuned to my journey.
